The company was founded by employees of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology with the assistance of the institute in 2020. The company continues to collaborate with Skoltech and develops its own technology solutions.

Problem

The existing laboratory technologies do not meet the requirements of the oil industry. Often they have a high cost and low repeatability, the duration can be too high and the results are not always reliable.

Oil companies need new, more reliable, affordable, and faster laboratory technology.

Solution

We use artificial core twins – microfluidic chips, which allow us to conduct various laboratory tests from enhanced oil recovery methods to PVT properties of formation fluids.

Microfluidic chips allow to conduct experiments under the same conditions as conventional laboratory core-based tests. Microfluidic chips can be used with all possible fluids, they simulate the original structure of the reservoir rock, if necessary reproduce the original wettability of the core and they can be used in real reservoir conditions using a patented microfluidic holder and a unique microfluidic setup.

Microfluidic chips enable in-situ laboratory tests using a patented microfluidic holder and a unique microfluidic setup. Our company has developed a patented microfluidic platform for in-situ laboratory tests on a chip. The technology is already being used in works for leading oil companies.

The technology can be represented in four steps:

Analysis of the internal structure of rock samples using micro-CT or electron beam microscope for microfluidic chips manufacturing.

Production, Core sample cloning

Generation of a 2D structure based on the previous step, followed by the fabrication of a microfluidic chip that reproduces the original properties of the core.

Perform laboratory tests using a manufactured microfluidic chip, proprietary microfluidic holder, microfluidic platform, and digital microscopes.
