The high-pressure, high-temperature microfluidic system reproduces real reservoir conditions in a miniature format: thermal stabilization, optical access to the porous medium for visualization, and automated valve control are combined in a single system. Microfluidic chips replicate the rock pore space, letting you observe oil displacement, phase behavior and fluid interaction in real time under a microscope.
The platform covers EOR chemical screening, interfacial tension (IFT) measurement, and the study of other processes that occur at the microscale. The microfluidic approach delivers results substantially faster and cheaper than traditional field trials at comparable reservoir conditions.
