A set of borosilicate-glass microfluidic chips for running chemical reactions in continuous flow. The chips are designed for organic and fine-chemical synthesis: mixing, residence-time hold and heat exchange take place in low-volume channels, giving a uniform temperature profile and a narrow residence-time distribution. This improves yield and selectivity compared with batch.
Meander channel geometry delivers intensive stream mixing and reproducible reagent metering. The small internal volume (a few microliters) and high specific heat-exchange area make it safe to run exothermic and fast reactions. Borosilicate glass is chemically inert and compatible with organic solvents, acids and bases.
The chips are made in a borosilicate-glass format with an interface and connect to LA-Pump series pumps and temperature-control hardware. The set suits condition screening, optimization and reaction-kinetics studies at flow rates from 0.1 to 100 µl/min.
